I sense Anet is going to reset the whole economy, but idk because I know a lot of people would quit the game if they lost their wealth.

Even if you would get 1 Armbrace out of every Coffer it would not explain thousands of Armbraces...
Just want to know: Are you sure that this isn't some kind of trade scam? Say the one showing the Armbraces has in fact only 7 instead of 1750? And that it would be some kind of bug? I mean noone did such a trade actually, so we can't say for sure til someone does right? (Plz tell me it's a scam, if there are really that much Armbraces and it is a bug... well... hell will break loose to say the least)

You obviously weren't around for the CoA Axe bug, where it had 2 grip slots. In the space of a night, people had dozens of them. Arenanet just replaced every single one of them with a plain white, minimum stat axe. They have the ability to do anything with anything in their database. They would be stupid to design a system where they couldn't.

Not a bug. Not an exploit. If this were the case, it would have been spread in a fraction of a second... Probably people who run botting companies, and people that are willing to spend 5,000 dollars to be cool in a virtual world.
Imo, these rare Asian pets ruin the game anyway. They only make situations like these happen, and many lucky individuals have gotten like 2000ecto+ profit out of them, all supported by 'black' gold. No offense to you, gladius, but posting here about the problem is kind of double IMO, since you probably had your superrare 15% unconditional weapons financed by 'black' gold also .

We are most definitely looking into this matter. Remember, there are any number of reasons why this might be going on, including even something as simple as a return of a display bug that was present back in June. (Reference here.) I am not saying that a display bug (and attempted scamming taking advantage of that bug) is the cause -- not at all! But it's a possibility, as are many other possibilities that others have offered.
We'll let you know when we have more info!

Please keep us posted, as I don't see any explanation why thousands of armbraces have flooded the market - and they are real braces, not display bugs.

Thanks for the additional info. This is going around in emails within the company, thanks to Curtis and John getting it started as a point of concern.
So, the designers and programmers are on the case and we hope to have more info soon.
Any other specific information you can provide would be very helpful. If we need anything -- like the names of those offering a gazillion Arm Braces -- I'll let you know.

Well, ONE Armbrace trading for a tormented weapon... that's normal, that probably happens several hundred times a day, but has anyone actually a pic where someone has thousands of Armbraces in his inventory (NOT the trade window), I mean, no offense to all your friends or friends of their friends but it's: no pic => it didn't happen. The only thing I've seen until now are 7 Stacks of
Armbraces in a TRADE window... if someone could plz confirm those in his or her INVENTORY I would be convinced..

So what'll happen to the people that traded for them? Will you just delete the armbraces and they lose their rare minis or w/e?

at this point there are 2 options for anet to do so who traded those amounts of ambraces:
1. they will simply deleted all the ambraces and mail the person in question its his own fault and he should have known these items were aquired with an exploit/hack
2. they will delete the ambraces and the minipet (from the person who payed you for the mini pet) and spawn a new minipet in the seller (off the minipet) his inventory like nothing has happend
if anet realy is concerned about the wealth and happines off people they will use the second option or something VERY similar
